Led by MCAP member region New South Wales, this report assesses recommendations made in post-bushfire inquiries across members to identify common themes, patterns, or ideas in post-wildfire, in order to to better understand and inform approaches to fire risk mitigation. There are existing comparative analyses of subnational government inquiries within national borders, but systematic review of fires across subnational jurisdictions in different countries is a research gap. The report seeks to uplift lessons that will provide valuable insights to strengthen government responses through shared learning and identify common challenges for further collaboration.
